The 12-step process of the spiritual program of action grounded Adams into a power greater than himself that has recreated his life. As a result, he is extremely passionate about doing this work with others, it is the bright spot of his life today.

Adams went to 17 treatment centers and was exposed to several top of the line “treatment center models” which for a chronic drug addict like himself was ineffective. When he finally ended up in Texas in late 2015 (even though he went to other supposed 12 step-based programs) he was exposed to the origins of the 12-step process for the first time.

He was able to do this work while in treatment and his spirit finally woke up. He always had the idea to be able to return to his home city and be a catalyst for helping spearhead a pocket of enthusiasm for this transformative process. Adams always had a vision of what Impact could be. Not only has that come to fruition but it has blossomed into something more remarkable than anything he could have dreamed.

Adams grew up in Mountain Brook where he graduated from MBHS in 2005. He went on to the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in Human Environmental Sciences. Before starting Impact, over the years Adams had worked in finance, business development and worked in the field of substance abuse.

He now lives in Birmingham with his wife and two sons. He enjoys sports, outdoors, exercise, food, music, and spending time with family and friends. Most of all he loves working with addicts and alcoholics that are stuck in the vicious cycle of addiction.
