Alcohol Addiction

Overcoming Alcohol Addiction:

A Pathway to Transformation and Freedom

Alcohol is one of the most commonly-abused addictive substances in the United States and has been for decades. Because of this “normalization” of alcohol, it can be very difficult for a person to identify and admit when they have a drinking problem. Our approach is designed to reach the core of alcohol addiction, providing support, understanding and practical tools to transform lives.

Signs of Alcohol Addiction

Identifying alcohol addictions can be difficult because excessive drinking is so commonplace. It can be hard to pinpoint both when a person drinks more than the average person and when a person actually has a problem.

A person may have a legitimate issue with alcohol if, in addition to drinking excessively, the person chooses to drink over engaging in other activities, often drinks on their own or suffers from significant medical or financial problems due to their drinking.

Some other signs of alcohol addiction may include:

  • Blacking out
  • Alcohol poisoning
  • Isolating from friends and family
  • Hiding drinking
  • Mood swings
  • Constantly being drunk or hungover
  • Associating with certain people just to drink

Long-Term Effects of Alcohol Addiction

Excessively drinking alcohol can cause significant damage to the internal organs and body systems. Drinking in general is not healthy, and the behavior only causes more issues if done in excess and over a long period of time. Drinking excessively can damage the brain as well. A person who drinks a lot can experience memory loss, confusion, cognitive limitations, impaired decision making skills, anxiety, depression and other mental issues.

Our Approach to Alcohol Addiction

We approach addiction from the inside. Your treatment plan will focus on the internal source of your substance abuse issues, and we will help you adjust your thinking to better manage your addiction. Our recovery plans are primarily informed by the 12 step approach to addiction treatment. This effective plan will provide a framework for your path to recovery, and we will supplement this traditional path with education, exercise, outdoor activities, group functions and community support. We can tailor the specific path of your treatment to your unique needs and ensure you are supported at every step.

Impact Recovery Center is dedicated to helping you curb your desire to drink and overcome your addiction issues.

Drug Addiction

Find Renewal and Freedom:

Drug Addiction Recovery at Impact Recovery Center

Whether stemming from a medical need, recreation or escape, drug addiction can be a consuming and isolating battle. At Impact Recovery Center, we understand the unique challenges you face. Our compassionate, comprehensive approach to recovery targets the root causes of addiction, offering you a personalized pathway to healing and a future unburdened by dependency.

Our founders and staff are in recovery themselves, and we understand your situation. We aim our program toward the internal sources of your addiction issues and work to resolve them with a spiritual solution. Whether you have issues with a drug you were prescribed, are struggling with recreational drug use or have issues with a combination of different drugs, we can help.

We provide programs for people who struggle with addiction to the following substances:

  • Benzodiazepines
  • Cocaine
  • Fentanyl
  • Heroin
  • Opiates
  • Methamphetamine
  • Other Prescription drugs

How to Identify a Drug Addiction

The first step to recovery is identifying that you are struggling with drug addiction. By thinking critically about your behaviors or the behaviors of a loved one, you can determine an issue and ensure you or that person receive/s the help they need.

You or a loved one may have substance abuse issues if you/they exhibit any of the following behaviors:

  • Avoiding family and friends and isolating
  • Changing routines
  • Acting strange or erratic
  • Not showing up for work or other commitments
  • Experiencing financial difficulties
  • Being secretive about activities or hiding things

The behaviors listed above are only a few examples of drug addiction signs. Every person is different, and it is very possible that your case is not typical. We offer free consultations to ensure everyone who is interested in our programs has a chance to tell their story and receive a recovery program that is right for them.

Our Approach to Drug Addiction

Rather than teaching people how to avoid “triggers” and manage their addiction issues, Impact focuses on the internal causes of addiction. By understanding the reasons you use drugs and managing those issues, you can encounter potential “triggers” without experiencing the desire to abuse substances.

We utilize the 12 steps in our approach to addiction recovery. This traditional method of recovery accounts for the progression in thinking that people must follow to overcome issues. We also utilize wellness activities and alternative forms for recovery. Within all of our program methods, we focus on community building and fostering healthy relationships. We allow the families of our clients to get involved in their loved one’s recovery, and we also have a network of program alumni and sponsors who will support you at every step of the way.

Breaking The Stigma Of Addiction

Unfortunately, many people who struggle with an addictive substance attempt to hide it or never seek help due to the negative stigma associated with addiction. Seen as criminals, drop-outs or failures, many people view addicts as being deserving of their circumstances as a result of poor choices. The reality is that addiction does not discriminate.

While a person’s association with an addictive substance may begin as a choice, once a person becomes addicted, they are no longer in control. At Impact Recovery Center, we seek to break the stigma of addiction and take a stand to this growing epidemic with compassion. We have been where you are, and we know how to help.

The 12 Step Process

If you have realized that you need help and have been searching for a program that is right for you, you likely are feeling overwhelmed by the options. Every facility approaches recovery differently, and there are many different ways to seek help, even though some are not very effective.

At Impact, the 12 steps are the basis of our drug and alcohol recovery program. The 12 steps are widely used in rehabilitation programs nationwide because of their effectiveness at bringing about sustained recovery. We've observed that, as individuals engage deeply with the 12 steps, they often find the courage to confront and resolve other underlying issues. This holistic approach leads to profound transformations, fostering a renewed perspective and outlook on life.

How It Works and What To Expect

The 12 Steps

Step

1

We admit we are powerless over mind-altering substances — that our lives have become unmanageable

Step

2

We come to believe that a Power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity

Step

3

Make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand Him

Step

4

We take a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves

Step

5

We admit to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs

Step

6

We ready ourselves to have God remove these defects of character

Step

7

We humbly ask God to remove our shortcomings

Step

8

We make a list of all persons we have harmed and become willing to make amends to them all

Step

9

We make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others

Step

10

We continue to take personal inventory, and when we are wrong, we promptly admit it

Step

11

Through prayer and meditation, we seek to improve our conscious contact with God as we understand Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out

Step

12

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs

Recovery starts now.

Awaken to a New Life.
